Terms of Service
Last updated: May 25, 2026
The short version
Use AgroSat for legitimate agricultural and environmental work. Don't abuse the API, share your key with others to dodge paying, or resell our data as a competing product. Be reasonable, and so will we.
What AgroSat is
AgroSat gives you programmatic access to Sentinel-2 satellite imagery analysis for any field on Earth. It's built for agricultural monitoring, crop insurance, agricultural lending, research, and app development. If you're using it for something in that space, you're in the right place.
Your API key
Your API key is yours. Keep it private -- don't put it in public repos, don't share it with other organisations so they can avoid getting their own key, and don't embed it in client-side code where anyone can read it.
If your key is compromised, generate a new one from the signup page. We store keys as hashes and can't recover a lost one.
What you can and can't do
You can:
- +Use analysis results in your own products, reports, and dashboards
- +Build applications on top of the API and charge your own customers for them
- +Use the MCP server to let AI agents call the API on your behalf
You can't:
- +Resell raw AgroSat API responses as a satellite data product
- +Run multiple accounts to get around your plan's call limit
- +Try to access or interfere with other customers' data or our infrastructure
- +Use the service for anything illegal
Rate limits
Limits reset on the 1st of each month. Unused calls don't roll over. Requests over the limit get a 429 response. Multi-field endpoints consume one call per field.
Billing
AgroSat is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans in the future, we will update these terms and give existing users advance notice before any charges apply. Any billing that does occur will be handled through Stripe, and the same principles will apply: cancel any time, no surprise charges, and if something goes wrong on our end we'll make it right.
Questions about billing: [email protected]
Data accuracy
Satellite-derived crop health indices are useful signals, not ground truth. NDVI and NDWI values depend on cloud cover, atmospheric conditions, and the resolution of Sentinel-2 imagery. They can be wrong.
Don't make irreversible decisions -- financial, agricultural, or insurance -- based solely on AgroSat output. Use it as one input among several, not as the final word.
Availability
We run AgroSat on reliable infrastructure and try to keep it up. But satellite analysis depends on third-party services (Microsoft Planetary Computer, Google Cloud) and sometimes things break. We don't promise a specific uptime number at this stage.
Our liability
If something goes wrong because of a bug or outage on our end, we're liable up to what you've paid us in the last 30 days. We're not liable for crop loss, financial losses, or downstream damages from acting on AgroSat data.
Termination
You can stop using AgroSat any time. We can suspend a key if it's being abused. We'll give notice before doing so unless it's a serious abuse situation.
Changes
If we update these terms meaningfully, we'll change the date at the top and email registered key holders. Carrying on using the API after an update means you accept the new terms.
